Although her mother left Houston soon after, Swift has visited a few times with her family to visit relatives.

A few years later, during her 1989 World Tour, she performed at Minute Maid Park in Houston and expressed her love for the city, where her parents tied the knot and her mother completed her college education. Houston has always held a special place in Swift’s heart, and it shows in her performances and fond memories.

In 1989, Houston witnessed the marriage of Andrea and Scott Swift. However, in 2015, Taylor Swift shared with her fans that her mother was diagnosed with cancer. The emotional turmoil that Taylor felt was put into her song “Soon You’ll Get Better,” which included The Chicks. Two years prior to this, in 2017, Taylor made a significant contribution to the Houston Food Bank, dedicating it to her mom.
