Scarlett Johansson recently spoke about her former husband Ryan Reynolds in a rare comment during an interview on Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Goop” podcast. The “Black Widow” star referred to the actor, who starred in the hit film “Deadpool”, as a “good guy” while discussing marriage with Paltrow, who asked if Johansson had been married twice, to which the actress corrected her saying she had been married thrice.

Gwyneth commented on Scarlett’s brief marriage to Ryan Reynolds, calling it “goals.” Scarlett clarified that they weren’t married for very long, but were still together during the filming of Iron Man 2. Gwyneth expressed her love for Ryan Reynolds, to which Scarlett responded with a laugh and complimented him as a good guy. After her divorce from Ryan, Scarlett moved in with Romain Dauriac, with whom she shares a daughter named Rose. They got married in 2014 but separated in 2017. Scarlett is now happily married to Colin Jost, while Ryan is married to Blake Lively and has four children with her. In an interview, Scarlett was asked about what she’s learned from her past relationships and how her approach towards long-term relationships has changed. She revealed that she knew Colin for a while, but only through work.

“When we initially began dating, I don’t think I would have been mentally prepared for a relationship like the one I have with Colin at various points in my life. This is because I was uncertain about defining my own limits and didn’t have a clear idea of what I required or wanted from a partner,” she explained. “But then, I came to the realization that there were certain essential aspects of my personality that I had to communicate to my significant other.”

Scarlett explained that her relationship with Colin worked because she was able to recognize and respect her own needs, and accept that certain fundamental characteristics were necessary. This was a valuable lesson for her.
