Katy Perry performed at Rockefeller Center on August 27th, bringing her hits like “California Gurls,” “I Kissed A Girl,” and the title track of her latest album, “Teenage Dream.” The stage was decorated with giant Gummi Bears and lollipops, fitting the Candyfornia theme of her album’s cover art. Katy Perry arrived on stage in a pink bedazzled outfit, descending from a cotton candy cloud to the delight of fans who had camped out to see her. She explained that she wanted to bring something sweet to the early morning performance to make everyone feel better.
Perry started off her concert with the hit single “California Gurls,” featuring Snoop Dogg, but performed it without him. She later wore a pink tutu and sang the title track of her recently released album. Perry took breaks in between performances to sign autographs for fans.
During an interview with Natalie Morales and Ann Curry, Perry revealed that her own teenage dream was her fiancé, Russell Brand. She closed the concert with her famous song “I Kissed a Girl,” leaving fans satisfied.
While NBC celebrated Perry’s summer release with a concert, MySpace decided to generate more buzz around the album by revealing behind-the-scenes footage of the making of her “Teenage Dream” music video.
