“From Rescue to Roar: Angelina Jolie’s Adoption of Orphaned Cheetah Cubs”

Angelina Jolie, the Hollywood actress known for her activism on social issues like human rights and poverty, has written an open letter for Harper’s Bazaar. In the letter, she talks about her love for Namibia and stresses the importance of protecting the environment and helping each other. She also poses for a photoshoot with three orphaned cheetahs that she helped rescue in 2015. Jolie shot the pictorial at the N/a’an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary in Namibia, which is run by her friends Marlice and Rudie van Vuuren. The sanctuary is known for preserving natural habitats and protecting endangered species like elephants, rhinos, and cheetahs. One of the cubs rescued was named after Jolie’s biological daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt while the other two were named Wonder and Odyssey.

In 2015, Jolie came across three young cheetah cubs that her family sponsored. These cubs had been orphaned and were almost on the brink of death. Fortunately, they were nursed back to health. However, they cannot be returned to the wild due to their loss of fear towards humans, which could put them in danger if they stray onto farmland. With only fewer than 7,100 cheetahs remaining worldwide, the goal is to rescue every animal possible. Jolie emphasized that these cheetahs are not pets, and no wild animal should ever be treated as such. Instead, they serve as a source of inspiration to help protect these majestic creatures in their natural habitats and preserve the environment for future generations. Jolie encouraged everyone to make a difference through their everyday choices, such as committing to never buying illegal wildlife products like ivory or rhino horn.

In a recent letter, Jolie emphasized the responsibility of fashion magazines to bring attention to the harm caused to animals in the fashion industry. She reminded readers that many wild animals are killed for their fur and leather and that fashion magazines can play a vital role in discouraging such practices. Instead of promoting the use of wildlife parts in fashion, magazines can send a message that wild animals deserve to stay in their natural habitat. Jolie concluded the letter by emphasizing the importance of individual action and how our choices can impact future generations. She highlighted the significance of standing up for what you believe in and choosing to fight against animal cruelty in the fashion industry.
