Controversy Stirred as Dominican Republic Bans Miley Cyrus Concert.

In Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the government commission responsible for overseeing public events has decided to cancel Miley Cyrus’s concert scheduled for September 13, citing moral reasons.

On Thursday, the commission announced their decision to intervene due to Cyrus frequently participating in behaviors that go against societal norms and values, which are considered illegal under Dominican regulations.

Tickets for the upcoming concert in the city center are on sale for prices ranging from $27 to $370, and have been up for grabs since July. Several reviewers have criticized Cyrus’ behavior during her performances, noting that actions like twerking and inappropriate touches are inappropriate.

A spokesperson for Cyrus did not provide a response when asked for a comment. Organizers of the concert in the Dominican Republic chose not to discuss the issue. In previous instances, the commission has censored songs they consider inappropriate, including those by Calle 13 from Puerto Rico.
